Plant Fitter

Location: Swindon (the role would involve some overnight travel)

Type of position: permanent

Salary £32,000 to £36,000

We are now seeking to recruit Multi Skilled Plant Engineer to work for our client based in Swindon. The he appropriate candidate would be prepared to work away from home as well as at the factory site based in Swindon. When working away from home you will expected to say away approx. 2 nights a week sometimes fortnightly with guaranteed return home for weekend.

Duties

• Skilled in usage of diagnostic equipment and the ability to adapt to the various equipment on site.
• Investigating and solving Emission control system problems, e.g. mechanical failures, electrical failures, manufacturing errors
• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment
• fabrication and basic welding processes
• Willingness to travel & stay at customer sites across the UK.
• Provide support and suggestions for continuous improvement.
• Emission control system installations at high quality
• Writing reports and documentation

• Applicants should be suitably qualified and have experience in heavy commercial vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostic

Experience of engineering, preferably gained within an automotive environment is essential, with a good understanding of engine / vehicle testing.
