Quality Inspector

My client, an established aerospace subcontractor who provide machined components to market leaders in the industry, currently have a requirement for a Quality Inspector to join them at their Solihull factory on a permanent basis.

As an Inspector you will be responsible for maintaining quality standards by reviewing, verifying and releasing incoming materials, performing first off and ongoing inspection for production processes, reviewing, validating and releasing work to and from subcontractors and inspecting and releasing finished products.

KEY RESULT AREAS

1.Inspect goods (Raw material, in process or finished).

2.Examine materials from suppliers before release for stores.

3.Inspect components, subassemblies, and assemblies.

4.Perform visual inspections as required.

5.Ensure compliance to company quality procedures/standards.

6.Audit, sample and report against component features and company procedures.

7.Perform complex measurement using the appropriately calibrated gauges/equipment.

8.Test, measure, and analyze products as required.

9.Produce detailed reports, FAI or PPAPS as required.

10.Read and interpret charts, drawings, layouts, work instruction, etc...

11.Utilize appropriately calibrated micrometers, calipers, preset gauges etc...

12.Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

13.Document inspection results by completing reports and logs as required.

14.Observe/operate CMM machine

15.Maintain good housekeeping.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Maintain and produce a precision quality product/documentation on time.
  • Be prepared to move to the point of need given appropriate training.
  • Maintain a safe, clean operating environment at all times.
  • Ensure the machinery is looked after and appropriate lubrication applied and maintained.

This position would ideally suit someone that has previously worked in Quality Inspection in an Aerospace manufacturer.
