CNC Field Service Engineer

An excellent opportunity for a well-established Machine Tool Manufacturer. My client has built themselves a well-respected reputation and managed to maintain this. This role would suit a Maintenance Engineer/Service Engineer that is open to a nationwide field based role.

They are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer where you will need a relevant qualification and some experience in:

• Fault Finding
• Maintaining CNC machines
• Service/Maintenance Engineering
• Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
• Working with mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics

After a structured training programme, your main job role will be visiting customer sites throughout a specified geographical area and installing, servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical / electrical repair work on my client's range of CNC machinery and associated CNC equipment.

Key Areas of Responsibility

The ideal candidate will be responsible for;

• Trouble shooting and attending electrical and mechanical breakdowns
• Advising the help desk on any breakdown issues
• Able to communicate and liaise with the business in the support of all of its products. T
• Must be available to attend site throughout the country at short notice providing solutions for our customers and the business
• Must be able to understand and demonstrate the functionality of CNC equipment

Main Tasks

• To understand and demonstrate knowledge of engineering activities including:

oService work

oPreventative maintenance

oInstallation and commissioning of capital equipment (Preferably CNC machines)

oBreakdown electrical

oBreakdown mechanical

oTraining

• Understanding mechanical drawings
• Understanding electrical drawings
• Problem solve and troubleshoot in the event of difficulties arriving from an intervention
• PLC and CNC knowledge
