Electrical Maintenance Technician

Cam/Dursley

Days (6am - 2:30pm)

£30,000 + Overtime

We are looking for a qualified technician to join our busy team responsible for all aspects of maintenance and improvement of a manufacturing facility in Cam, Dursley. We offer a full time role working Monday to Friday with an occasional need for weekend working. The technician would also need to become a member of 'on call' team once proficient.

Primary role:

The role is of electrical bias however the candidate will be expected to assist with general maintenance of the plant machinery, buildings and facilities.

Responsibilities of the Electrical maintenance Technician:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and make preventative repairs on all electrical systems including control panels, instrumentation, controls, machinery and industrial final circuits.
  • React to electrical malfunctions, fault find and complete repairs to minimise down time, this also includes out of hours call outs on a rota system.
  • Construct and install electrical control panels from given drawings
  • Recommend changes or upgrades to electrical systems that maximise uptime and energy efficiency.
  • Upgrade existing systems and automation of existing machinery.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Assist maintenance manager in the organisation of spare parts and implementation of managed stock inventory.
  • Assist maintenance team in day to day running and maintaining of the plant including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Assist other technicians in building practical electrical skills.

Skills required for the role:

  • Good standard of education in both literacy and numeracy
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Health and Safety conscious
  • Flexible team player
  • Good communicator

Qualifications/ Experience required:

  • Electrical Level 3 qualification, above or equivalent and/or proven time served.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Experience in an industrial environment including PLC's, control panels and automation.

Desired qualifications:

  • IPAF
  • IOSH or similar health and safety qualification

Experience:

  • Industrial Environment: 2 years (Required)

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (Required)

Licence:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Required)
