An interesting and unique opportunity has become available for a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to work closely within Procurement with Honda of the UK Manufacturing, the automotive manufacturing company who are globally renowned for their technological expertise.

The responsibilities are far reaching including monitoring compliance, training, policy & process owners, responsible for training & managing the user groups, on-going system/process improvements etc. to ensure that the Pan-E Procurement Team deliver the best savings and service to the end customers within Honda across Europe.

Key elements of the role:

  • Responsible for ensuring all policies and procedures are adopted and complied with across Europe.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the Regional Support & Window People to ensure strong Procurement Governance and mitigate Maverick Spending.
  • Responsible for the training of Buyers, Requestors, Suppliers and Business Approvers.
  • Responsible for resolving business related issues (tickets) from the Business Process Outsources (BPOO) helpdesk.
  • Work with the project team to define and test the delivered technologies to support the new ways of working.
  • Manage where areas of noncompliance have been identified by the team, find the root cause and countermeasure quickly and efficiently.
  • Responsible for building relationships with Honda Motor Europe Legal and managing the contract templates in SAP Sourcing.
  • Carry out regular systems reviews with Buying teams to identify areas of improvement that SST can work to deliver using a PDCA approach.
  • Create regular communications to all customers of the Pan E Indirect Procurement team keeping them update on developments, improvements & general news.
  • Work with the Procurement SST Manager & Procurement Teams to appraise and improve the BPO's performance on an on-going basis.

The potential candidate will ideally need to have a degree or HND in a commercial , financial or engineering related discipline or have vast experience in completing this type of activity

Requirements:

1)Demonstrable understanding of business processes connected with Procurement especially indirect purchasing & goods receipting.

2) Experience of influencing and managing people in a constructive way to ensure compliance to Procurement Policy.

3) Experienced communicator with demonstrable training experience.

4) Experience in creating training materials to support end users.

5) Able to formulate presentations present to all levels of management.

6) Previous experience of defining and setting up monthly/ quarterly activity reporting.

7) Experience of managing continuous improvements in a project capacity using PDCA.

8) Used SAP or equivalent preferably SAP SRM, SAP SPM & SAP Sourcing

9) Would be very beneficial if the candidate spoke other European languages (not essential).
