Profile

Our client is the world leader in the maintenance, repair, overhaul and support of highly complex aerospace systems. They are currently looking for a Flow Leader to join their operations team. Job Role

The role is managing processes to ensure maximum utilisation of plant and resources in line with Lean principles. This position will be a non-overtime paid role with incremental increases based on performance and KPI achievements.

Duties

  • To ensure effective management of employee performance
  • To provide a management focal point for shift working where appropriate
  • To champion health & safety in the value stream
  • To ensure an effective cascade of policy deployment initiatives and delivery of policy deployment targets including down to Level 5
  • Co-ordination and involvement in quality improvement activities including 8D
  • To champion lean sigma initiatives including value stream mapping, kaizen events and 5s activity
  • Effective control of WIP levels, rotable piece parts, SPT reduction including good use of the planning and control systems
  • Reduction in operating costs and the enhancement of standardised best practice
  • Effective management of the value stream skills matrix through rigorous adherence to PDR schedules
  • Effective management of the value stream resource pool including absence, holidays, overtime etc.
  • Adherence to and delivery of the value stream programmed activity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A working knowledge of lean principles & tools/techniques and how to deploy these effectively to leverage continuous improvement within a defined value stream. (To six sigma Green belt level)
  • Effective communication skills throughout all levels of the value stream structure.
  • A comprehensive job knowledge associated to relevant methodologies or best practices & compliance requirements.
  • Capable of interpretation of KPI's and of developing appropriate actions.
  • A flexible approach with ability to adapt to different working environments.
  • Effective people development, leadership, coaching and team development skills.
  • High levels of 'change energy', demonstrated motivation towards change implementation.
  • Strong and effective delegation skills where appropriate.
  • Ability to portray full endorsement of business goals and objectives.
  • A keenly developed sense of right first time attitude towards quality
