Project Engineer

My client a leading manufacturer based in Gloucester is looking for a Project Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. The successful candidates will be working closely with Project Managers in the delivery of a number of projects. The role requires a good understanding of engineering principles; it also requires time management and communication skills in order to manage customers, suppliers and internal functions effectively.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate experience in some of the following areas:

• Co-ordination with internal departments- accounts, production, engineering, laboratory personnel
• Leading problem solving activities with assistance from technical and engineering departments
• Client communication- both email and verbal - attending conference calls where necessary
• Support of site/factory workforce to deliver projects- support on and obtaining paperwork, identification of issues and resolutions, health and safety support and escalating to project manager as necessary
• Co-ordination with production and shipping firms to manage logistics associated with sending materials and resources worldwide.
• Placement of, expediting suppliers and GRNing purchase orders
• Obtaining and collation of site paperwork to produce a Materials Record Book for client submittal
• Production of delivery documentation- Bills of Lading, packing lists, Raising of production requests for in-house manufacturing, production of project documents, issuing to clients and tracking approvals, responding to queries.
• Management of documents via an SDRL register
• Use of company ordering and invoicing database

A background in mechanical engineering, qualified to minimum level of HNC or equivalent as well as experience interpreting mechanical drawings are essential.
