PROCESS ENGINEER - PERMANENT POSITION - GLOUCESTER

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a niche manufacturing company based in Gloucester. My client specialise in wood products and supply retail and trade customers; they are now looking for an experienced process engineer to join their expanding business.

The process engineer will act as a key member of the technical team, and will report straight into the Technical Director.

The main purpose of the role is to work alongside the NPD team and production team, in order to guidance and support to the manufacturing process. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Design of new systems and processes for NPI or improvement of existing manufacturing
• Planning of manufacturing processes and equipment
• Lead the way in ensuring quality improvement
• Collaboration with NPD to ensure product processes and integrated as smoothly as possible
• Responsibility for change control within production trials
• Developing, enhance and maintain operating procedures and routine maintenance checks for all shop floor equipment
• Teach, set and improve equipment processes
• Act as facilitator when required throughout the manufacturing process

The process engineer is expected to have the following skills, knowledge and/or experience:

• Sound practical and hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of furniture industry/manufacturing
• Knowledge of CNC Machining (5-axis desirable) and improvement of their manufacturing process
• Understanding of continuous improvement and industrial engineering
• Cost conscious, and able to prioritise value for money
