Job Title: National Operations Manager
Location: Cirencester
Salary: Negotiable DOE
Our client, a reputable local business are looking to recruit for a National Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for all gas operations across the business (private domestic properties) and to share responsibility for the achievement of installation objectives as set out in the business.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the management and development of gas operations capability
- The effective management of installation teams to meet the installation plan. The operations team includes regional installation managers, a sub-contract manager, lead engineers, installation engineers, surveyors and service/breakdown engineers
- Resolve installation issues and problems both at the installer and installed system level
- Ensure all installations are implemented safely, effectively, efficiently at best cost and to the customer's satisfaction within the requirements of Gas Safety Regulations
- Manage and evolve processes to ensure the achievement of continuous improvement in installation activities and the number of installations achieved per period
- Ensure that appropriate levels of data are available to effectively monitor progress, identify issues and complete reporting requirements (legal, regulatory and financial)
- To meet and exceed operational KPIs
- Monitor budgets. Ensure no overruns. Highlight potential issues well in advance. Aim for continuous improvement in spending/cost efficiency related to installation
Specific core competencies and skills:
- It would be an advantage to have held gas qualifications, including Gas Safe registration. CCN1, CEN1, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1, MET1, WAT1 and Unvented Hot Water (not necessary to be current).
- A professional operations manager with a strong aptitude for analysis leading to plans for improvement, looking to work in an entrepreneurial venture
- Must be open to challenging established ways of working to deliver innovative solutions for our business and our customers
- Hands on. Must be capable of analysis and securing improvement against identified areas of opportunity.
- Understanding of the requirements of individual domestic customers rather than B2B
Experience:
- Extensive experience in a domestic gas heating operations management role, responsible for multiple installation teams (employed and sub-contract) across an extended geography
- Previous career experience installing and servicing domestic gas heating system
- Experience in the design and specification of domestic gas heating installations in line with all applicable legislation
- Likely to have had a career to date in a business that requires constant process analysis and improvement
