Type:Permanent

Salary:£30,000 - £35,000 p.a.

KEY PURPOSE

My client, a lead manufacturer of a domestic product, currently seeks a Project Engineer to be involved in the design and integration of new product Manufacturing Systems in line with the production strategy and project requirements, to meet agreed quality, cost and delivery metrics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, lead and coordinate project responsibilities for the Production function.
• Deliver the latest manufacturing system concepts to achieve a step change against cost, quality and delivery.
• Manufacturing input to New Product Development projects to improve design effectiveness and reliability through DFMA, design reviews, FMEA's and regular feedback.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements within NPD projects.
• Act as the responsible manufacturing engineer for nominated programme and projects, with the ability to understand complex technical designs.
• Manage process mapping, PFMEA and control plan sessions and subsequent testing scenarios.
• Manage pilot build and Pre Production.
• Create process documentation, to include Assembly Methods, Work Instructions, Production Test requirements, Initial Production Assessments and Control Plans.

EDUCATION

• BEng/ BSc certificate or equivalent engineering qualifications.

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE

• Knowledge of automation concept development and integration.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office software and SAP.
• Trained to use DFMA software.
• Trained in Time Studies.
• Trained to use Microsoft Project.
• Project Management experience would be beneficial.
