Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will have experience of working with machines and hand-fits.

You will be able to assemble components in the construction of rigs, prototype machines and instruments.

Design and specification of project / design engineers in connection with the Research and Development work using skills in fitting and machining.

Manufacture items to specified accuracy (sometimes very close tolerance).

Significant experience working with Stainless Steel and sheet metal.

Be able to use Lathes, Mills plus all other general workshop tools.

Manufacture items to specified accuracy (sometimes very close tolerance).

Key Requirements:

Experience with CNC would be beneficial.

Good manual dexterity, memory and speed of reaction are needed to operate accurate machines with digital readout systems.

Initiative and sound judgement are required to determine the most effective methods to manufacture parts and assemble systems.

Must be able to read engineering drawings.

Previous experience of working as a Mechanical Engineering apprentice preferred.
